Our newest hot sauce– Datil Peppers with Black Garlic!
A friend and frequent customer recommended making a hot sauce with black garlic so we tried it and it turned out fabulous! This new hot sauce has a very complex flavor. First you taste a slight sweetness and creaminess and then you get the garlic. Black garlic is reminiscent of roasted garlic – it’s not strong or pungent, just pure flavor. And last but not least you get the heat. Not terribly hot, a 6 out of 10. It hits your tongue and lasts for a minute or so before it goes away.
Perfect for chicken wings, eggs, burritos, a burger or anything that you put hot sauce on.
The color of this sauce is also very different. The yellow of the Datil pepper mixed with the black garlic give is a color similar to a warm mole sauce or melted milk chocolate.
Ingredients
The peppers are fermented with garlic, salt, and water. Pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar, honey, black garlic and spices were added to the fermented peppers.
The sauces are shelf stable at room temperature until opened. Then they are stable in the refrigerator until you finish the bottle!
